Hey, I’ve been saying this for years: If you want to reduce concussions in the NFL, ban helmets:
The easy answer, if the goal is substantially less in the way of concussions, is to ban helmets altogether. If so, players will be far more careful about how they hit and tackle, and they’ll do both with much less force. Of course if the League bans helmets, the NFL will almost instantaneously descend into irrelevance. Conversely, ongoing equipment enhancements could potentially lead to player behavior that continues to push the outer end of the envelope.
