Football Player Baptized at Practice

No, not “baptized” like they say on ESPN when a player gets his skull dislocated with a big hit. I mean, literally, baptized at practice. From Dr. Saturday:

…receiver DeAndre Hopkins was baptized in one of the Rubbermaid tubs that the team uses for ice baths in front of his teammates following practice.

Well, that’s great. And how did the rest of DeAndre’s weekend go?

Perhaps the baptism was exactly what Hopkins needed because he went on to catch a school-record 13 passes and a touchdown to help lead the Tigers to a 26-19 win over Auburn.

And how did dumb, spiteful people with too much time on their hands respond to this and to coach Jeff Scott, who tweeted out the above picture?

Of course. Welcome to the party, DeAndre!
