From The Hill:
Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), an outspoken critic of just about everything President Obama supports, is considering introducing a bill that would repeal everything Obama has signed into law.
King put forward this suggestion to an Iowa audience on Tuesday, when he also reiterated his threat to sue the Obama administration for its June decision not to deport younger illegal immigrants.
I don’t know how realistic this is (my guess is, “not very”), but I like where his head’s at. If Republicans can take the presidency, House, and Senate in November, they need to get cracking on repeal of a whole bunch of stuff.
But bear in mind that a lot of the damage that Obama’s done can’t be undone, or will take a long, long time to undo. All that money that flooded out the door into stimulus slush funds, plummeting GM stock, and green energy boondoggles ain’t coming back. Judicial appointees are there for life. And more than just the laws and executive orders, there are funkjillions of new federal regulations that are going to have to be rolled back in a process that will make World War I trench warfare look like a stampede of rocket-powered antelopes.
Let’s not kid ourselves and think we can just erase part of our history. Obama’s going to be in the Disney World Hall of Presidents right alongside Rutherford B. Hayes and Warren G. Harding.
